What can I expect in the initial appointment?

When we meet for the first time, I conduct an intake interview. If you decide to continue with therapy, I will start the assessment phase. I will be asking some questions about your current concerns, physical health and family history. We will work together to formulate goals for your treatment.

How long will it take to accomplish my goals?

The length of treatment varies from individual to individual. The frequency of treatment ranges from once to three sessions per week.

What can I expect in a therapy session?

My sessions are 45-60 minutes in length. During sessions you may talk about anything on your mind. Some people request longer sessions or come more frequently. During the time between sessions it can be beneficial to think about and process what was talked about. Sometimes you may find it useful to take certain actions outside of session, such as reading a relevant book or keeping a journal, which can help further your work in therapy.
